This is a pretty basic look without the heavy crease work or precise blending. It is also a great look to try if you are just starting out and want to master the technique of seamless blending while holding onto the integrity of the color.
A tutorial is uploading for this look and I will link back to it once it is processed and complete.

Yellow and Purple Tutorial
I am just about to put up onto my channel so here are some better pics of the finished look to coincide with the.. dun dun dun... yellow and purple debut!

Finally!
I finally figured out with the help of a friend how to color correct and encode my video to fit youtube's standards. I am so happy!
This is the tutorial for the neutral gold and purple look. I need to step away from my purple palette a bit since it is getting some heavy use from me. Check back for a really cool, carved crease, smoky look featuring Bobbi Brown eyeshadows with little MAC used and no purples!
Yellow and Purple Tutorial Preview
This look is in the editing stage. I am using a thirty day trial of Ulead 11.5 video editing software which has many more bells and whistles than Windows Move Maker which is what I was previously using but it is not quite as user friendly. I am working my way through it and enjoy the finished product even though it takes me a little longer to get there.
This look should be live on my youtube channel sometime this afternoon.

Yes, I suck.
An unacceptable lack of updates! I know.. I know. I have been a little quiet on the makeup/blog/LJ/YT front but this week has been so crazed that I had little time for anything but to get up, slap on some mineral makeup, lipstick and mascara and rush out the door.
I am slowly getting back into my routine and worked on this look here.

I am trying new technique for my crease work. It is called carving out the crease and it involves the use of an eyeliner pencil for a precise line in the crease and color blended upwards. This is my second try and I still need some practice! I still like the over all look though.
I used a brown pencil in the crease and smudged upwards. I also used a little Bronze shadow to deepen the shadow and some Carbon along the outer edge for dimension. Along my lower lashline, I used a blend of Bark shadow by Bare Escentuals and Carbon and applied it really tight to the water line.

A Neutral Look using Electroflash
Not everyone is jazzed about wearing bright colors on their eyes so I wanted to work something out for the lovely ladies who like it a little more subtle.

Electroflash Tutorials... I have been busy!
Hey lovelies. Sorry for the lack of updates this weekend. I was putting up tutorials like crazy and it ate up a lot of my time. I have some updates though!

I am so over Electroflash already
Actually, I am not...hur hur hur! But you may be thinking that after my sea of Electroflash looks.
Well, settle in everyone because there is more to come. Comin’ at ya in super high def; an all Electroflash Weekend!! Whoot!
Yes, Sir.. I am still feeling the Electroflash love but sadly, not really loving this look on me. I made a few mistakes here. I used a shimmery color to define the crease [the solid color] and I should have went with my gut instinct and used Burnt Burgundy. I also don’t think the color is right for me. It can change though when I try the look with a more defined, matte crease; we shall see.
This lipstick is Fast Thrill and I LOVE it. I love it to the point that makes it back-up worthy for me.
This is the Play on Plums duo which is so pretty and fuzzy.

So, yesterday on LJ, I sort of blew of the Mineralized Blushes as over priced gimmicks and I quote... "a blush is a blush is a blush. I really have to eat my words because these blushes are AMAZING! They are so pigmented but very easy to sheer out and they apply beautifully. So yeah, I walked out with three and am going back for two more. I never said I was not a little ill.

More Electroflash! What is going on here?!?
I have to finish editing the last tutorial but I have to do this tomorrow. I am just loving this collection. So, this is the look I will be working on tomorrow and I promise to get it up quickly!

My second try with the Electroflash MES Duos
I used Hot Contrast which is the black and marbled red/silver split today for a smoky look and so far, as expected, I am really impressed with the quality of the shadows. The solid black side is especially lovely. It is not matte like Carbon or glittery like Black Tied; it has a very low shimmer and applies beautifully even. Tomorrow I am going to play with the face charts up on www.maccosmetics.com.
I also used Blanc Type shadow along the brow bone. Blanc Type is a bone colored matte shadow that was released with Matte2 by MAC. On my lips is Love Angel by NYX Cosmetics.

Electroflash is here!
I got my Electroflash order from MAC Pro today and boy, was I ever excited to dive into the Fresh Green Mix color. It was the one that I was most excited for. Mineralized eye shadows get a bum rap, I think. They are fantastic but the trick is using the right base. You need something a little stickier with these babies and the color payoff will be spectacular.
I was turned on to a little eye base tip from Leesha, aka XSparkage [youtube superstar] and I wanted to pass the info along. Want a great base that will make your eyeshadows pop, last forever and allow for easy blending? Clown Makeup.
Yep yep.. clown makeup. Kryolan has Aquacolors. Mehron has Paradise AQ and MAC has Chromacakes. Do a google search on these names to learn more but in the meantime, please check out how this Electroflash Mineralize Eye Shadow looks over a layer of light green Paradise AQ by Mehron.
I also used Velvet Moss in the crease to give the look some more dimension.

Pink and Maroon...seriously.
This is one of those makeup moments where the end result looks so much better than the photograph. To judge solely upon the photograph, it looks very similar to the purple and gold look I put up a few days ago. However, in actuality, the only true similarity is in my usage of Plumed Violet cream color base. This is a true burgundy and pink whereas the last look was gold and purple. Also, I have this really cool fade out to Lucky Green that is not really visible in the photograph; my guess is that the flash washed it out.
I am working on this new way of cutting into the crease that I am really liking so far. I was looking at my manky eyeliner brush and my cream color base and thought it would be a good idea to put down a defined line of cream color base and then pack the crease color over it. The pigment will adhere to the defined placement of cream color base but still fade out in the surrounding areas. It takes about three passes to get the perfect color placement and blend but so far, I am really loving the technique and will experiment further with it.
