Something fun

I wanted to do a dramatic look with bold, bright and candy-like colors. I used different brands to achieve this look which is good because diversity is important!

Lunaminky

A pal and subscriber asked for some advice on a look featuring Museum Bronze from the MAC Cosmetics Overrich Collection. Her one specification was that the look be somewhat on the subtle side. I hope that she and you like it!

For the details of the look, please check out my video tutorial.

Not Derivative of Anything

This is not a runway or celeb look. Just a smoky look with a pop of color using products from one of my new favorite makeup companies. If you have never heard or had the chance tio check out Heavenly Natural Beauty, I highly recommend that you do so. Their products are of the highest quality for a very low price.

Here is a link to Heavenly Natural Beauty. I can't stress enough at how pleasantly surprised you will be!

From the Runway to Everyday - Part Three

I have been scouring the internet for interesting and inspiring runway looks and found another Pat McGrath creation.  This look was done for a John Galliano show and once I came across it, I cried out.. Eureka!  and found my latest inspiration.  This is another part of the series that I will be doing a second recreation of because the first is still on the dramatic side so watch out for it!  I hope to have the even more subtle version of this look up by tonight.

Runway to Everyday - Part 2.5

So, my everyday version of the blue and white runway look posted below is still on the dramatic side and really not something that everyone may consider an “everyday” look.    I tried something different; how do you take such a dramatic and bold look and make into something that everyone could get behind.  It can be done but when you are working with bright blue, the challenge is amped up.  The main thing I wanted to do was to keep the bright blue in the look because it is the strongest component of the runway look.  The rest of the look is an inspired interpretation.  I did not want to use bright white but something a bit more subtle, hence my use of a bone colored shadow over naked pigment.

From the Runway to Everyday - Part Deux

This is my second look in my series of "From the Runway to Everyday". Now... I know that this look is still on the dramatic side and blue seems to be a trigger color for so many people in that it is a color that they do not feel comfortable wearing for day to day wear. For that reason, I will do a Part 2a and take the same components from the runway look and re-work into a totally suitable look that anyone can feel good about wearing. Look out for it!

From the Runway to Everyday

I love avante-gard makeup and am always excited to look through the different looks that are shown on the fashion runway. The House of Dior never fails to disappoint in their no holds barred approach to makeup and the Fall of 2008 show was no exception.

As beautiful as they are, not everyone will or can relate to these looks since they are too theatrical for everyday wear. I had the idea to take these theatrical looks and turn them into a look that the average man or woman can relate to and perhaps incorporate into their everyday makeup routine.

This is the first in a series of tutorials that focus on bringing the makeup of the runway into the everyday.
