Recycling is one of the latest trend in the world. It also has made its influence on the fashion universe.  In fact, if we can find different ways to re-use our worn-out, we will put the less stress on the environment.

Without the added benefits, recycling an old jeans into something new can be a lot of fun. Denim is such a sturdy material which make great fabric for teaching sewing techniques with. So what can you do with your old jeans? Here are some steps to change an old jeans into a new one.

  • For this DIY project you'll need an old jeans, corneal file, nutmeg grater and a seam ripper.
  • Take out an old jeans which you didn't wear for many days or years.
  • Dress on the jeans and rub with the help of nutmeg grater from one side to another at desired location. It can be from left to right or vice versa.
  • Remember, always rub horizontally, so that the fibers doesn't get damaged. You can take the corneal file for smaller areas.
  • If the horizontal threads becomes visible, you need to work very smoothly. The small filaments, that are not rubed away, you can pull them out with a needle or the seam ripper.
  • To enhance the used-look of the jeans, you can grind the complete jeans from left side to right side, but horizontally. Once done with everything, wash the jeans and then dress on. Your recycled and cool jeans is ready to wear.

These tips are only for the front side of the jeans; but if you want to add something more, you can work on the pockets of the jeans. It's upto your imagination and you can make a new, cool jeans out of an old one.
