Probably, managing time for family requires time management skills. If you plan ahead and manage your time well, then you may be able to spend much time with your family. And, I am pretty sure that you want to spend time with your family, but due to hectic schedule and work pressure, you are unable to do so. Well, heave a sigh of relief as here are few ways that may help you to manage your time for your family:

Always try to plan family activities that the entire family can do together instead of individual tasks everyone doing separately. This will give you an opportunity to have more time to enjoy together. For example, if one member of your family loves playing a sport, then you may choose to be a part of that. It may affect your immediate priorities a bit, but making certain sacrifices can ensure that you have a strong family unit that loves each other and learns from each other. You will enjoy the satisfaction you gain after you spend quality time with your family and you will be also happy that you choose what you value more.

Take time to plan ahead and do not forget to consider everyone’s different interests, passions and hobbies. Prepare a family calendar in which you can plan each person’s activities and plans for the month. This is particularly essential when children grow up and have more activities they need to be a part of. The family calendar can help you to avoid planning too many things at once as well as will help you to know all the activities in advance. As you know them in advance, you can then plan to take some time out and be a part of those activities. Go out at least once a month with the family. Make plans for the whole family to go on a special trip, and put it on the calendar in advance.

Keep a record of all special family occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries etc. This will probably help you to be prepared in advance and not get behind. Knowing what events are coming each month means you may be able to adjust your schedule.

Insist that everyone is there during dinner-time. During dinner, turn off the TV set and do not answer the telephone. This can help you to spend a fun-time with your family.

Whatever you do, respect your plans. Do not beg off at the last minute or change your mind at the eleventh hour. If you do so, your family may think that you do not consider them important enough to spend time with, and gradually, they may not consider you important, either.
