As everyone knows, pregnancy is not without physical risk; it may create several health problems. Carrying a pregnancy and giving birth to a child can cause several complications and subsequent health problems or even death. Similar to pregnancy, abortion is extremely dangerous for the unborn child as well as the pregnant woman.
Likes all medical procedures, abortion carries with it the possibility of complications and a certain amount of risk. Complications after an abortion includes some several health problems such as serious bleeding, cervical lacerations, breast cancer; cervical, liver, and ovarian cancer; and most importantly, death. Below given are some possible complications or risks of abortion.
Death
According to the study of deaths following abortion and pregnancy, women who abort are about four times more to die in the following year as compared to women carrying their pregnancies to term. Moreover, women who carry to to term are only half to die as women who were not pregnant. Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer is yet another complication mostly found after an abortion. After one abortion, the risk of breast cancer doubles, and rises even further with two ore more abortions. Abortion is considered as the cause of breast cancer.
Cervical, Liver and Ovarian Cancers
Compared to non-aborted women, women with an abortion face 2.3 relative risk of cervical cancer, whilst women with more than two abortions face a 4.92 relative risk. The situation is same with liver and ovarian cancer. These types of cancers leads to the disruption of the hormonal changes.
Behavioral Changes
Abortion is significantly connected to the behavioral changes such as smoking, promiscuity, eating disorders, and drug abuse which all contribute to increased risks of health problems. These types of behavioral changes are commonly found in women after abortion.
Apart from these, there are various complications of an abortion such as cervical lacerations, uterine perforation, and complications of labor. Abortion also increases the risks of future pregnancies including pre-term delivery, placenta previa, and ectopic pregnancy.
