If you are facing lots of obstacles of raising a child on your own then it will be very challenging and difficult. It’s not going to be unfeasible, but it will be difficult at times. You have to trust yourself, believe in yourself and your kid, and adore yourself as a parent.

Understanding:

You should comprehend that your "me" time is now going to be restricted. But that’s OK. Look at it as spending more quality time with your child and learning about yourself as well.

Talking:

Talk daily with your kid. If you have more than one kid, then do not talk to them together. Spend a particular amount of time with each kid so they have their own time with you. Talk about projects, schools, friends, or any issues they might have. Let them select the topic. Ensure that they know you’re there for them and not to be afraid to talk to you.

Follow Through:

You should follow through with discipline and/or punishment. If you (mom) say "no TV for two days", then ten minutes later you cannot invite them to watch television with you. Not just follow through, but you should treat them with admiration at any age. Kids are folks too, and they’ve feelings. They have to learn right from wrong, so taking stuff away from them implies that they did mistake and the consequences are what you took away.

Help:

You do not have to be unaccompanied. Just because you’re a single mom and do not have your other half with you anymore, does not mean that you need to be alone. Do not look at it as somebody doing "your" task, look at it as getting suggestion to help what you are already doing. Talk to other single parents or single moms.

Love:

Learn to love yourself as a mom, friend, dad, a person, and everything else. Your kid needs you so you should take care of yourself. You do not need to be mentally or physically drained.
